How did they meet?

It was a cold December night in 2005 when Bindu just got her brand new laptop. After all the flakes she had met until then she decided to put the power of the Interweb to good use and find herself a real man.

So she happened to log on to a website called Friendster where Anil happened to have an account. On the website she noticed the profile of a good looking guy in the "Singles Living Locally" section. One feature of the site includes seeing who on the site have checked out your profile. Anil logged on shortly afterwards and noticed that some hottie named Bindu was checking him out! Oowee! Of course Anil being the suave debonaire guy that he is did not take any action.

Bindu on the other hand could not resist and messaged Anil by asking him about how he was managing with the cold Chicago weather and how tall he really was as mentioned on the testimonials of him on the site. Yipes! Well with these advances Anil had no choice but to respond. After a few flirtatious e-mails these two decided to meet at a quaint little diner exactly halfway between their two homes.

Anil's jaw dropped as he saw Bindu strut her stuff into that diner. He was also in awe of Bindu's sexy Kenyan accent. Bindu was not so much in awe of Anil's Canadian accent so he had to swoon her with his charm.

The date ended with a bear hug and Bindu was intrigued by Anil enough to continue putting up with his kookiness.

Proposal

There was intial skeptism on Bindu's part whether Anil wanted her to get a green card. Anil was wondering the same. It turned out both were American citizens already.

After jumping through some hoops and putting each other through some subtle tests all summer long Anil decided to propose on Sweetest Day and Diwali.

He tied one end of a string to his finger and the other end to the engagement ring. He took her to the beach and offered her a present...with a string attached! He recited a poem and popped the question. After some suspense she decided... Why not?
